ARE YOU WORKING IN A "SICK BUILDING"?
When you are at work, do you get headaches or have trouble breathing? Do you feel groggy or nauseated? If so, there's a possibility you are working in a "sick building."
As many as 30 percent of new and remodeled buildings worldwide generate excessive complaints related to indoor air quality. To save rising energy costs, many of these new buildings are tightly sealed to the outside and air inside is largely recycled, trapping pollutants. What can you do?
1. Eliminate tobacco smoke. A smoke-free
policy is the best way to protect the health of all
employees.
2. Provide adequate ventilation and air circulation.
Adjust ventilation systems to proper guidelines. Did
you know that raising cubicle partitions 6 inches
off the floor allows for better air circulation?
3. Clean and disinfect every part of the ventilation
system regularly
